How Whooper swans keep clear sight

Master student Ashley Pete and undergraduate student Marina Dimitrov discovered how Whooper swans stabilize their head. It turns out the neck functions like a classic car suspension. The finding got featured in The Times and was published in Interface. Inspired by the finding Marina developed a demonstrator to show the promise of a swan-inspired camera suspension for flying robots with flapping wings.
