Graduation time: Congrats Amanda!
The lab celebrates that
Amanda Stowers successfully defended her impressive PhD thesis “Avian Inspired
Morphing Wings” on May 8th, well in time for the hooding ceremony during
commencement June 18th. In her thesis Amanda covers the most
extensive measurements on how bird wings morph till date, a new flapping morphing
wing design that was also featured in the NYT, as well as a new morphing aerial
robot design she worked on with other lab members. With all these and other
contributions Amanda has successfully completed her thesis within five years; a
wonderful accomplishment that we celebrated with a special lab game night. Congrats
Amanda and the very best from everyone in the lab!
