NSF Fellowship for Kenneth Hoffmann
Congratulations to Kenneth Hoffmann who won a NSF Fellowship! His research
proposal focusses on improving the control system design of morphing aerial
robots. It will critically contribute to autonomous flight control of our latest
morphing aerial robots to make them supermaneuverable and robust to flying in
turbulence. His combined theoretical and experimental approach will make a significant
basic research contribution that is needed to harness the unique controllability
of bird-inspired wing morphing via new well-designed inner and outer control loops.
